An Update on Life - CPA Exam 1, Changing Cities, and More

First, I'd like to apologize to the few of you who consistently continue to read and interact with my articles - you're the bomb. It has certainly been a while since my last post - almost 5 weeks to be exact. Due to my recent hiatus, I thought it necessary to catch you guys up to speed on how things have been going.

The majority of my final semester at Texas A&M consists of studying about 40 hours a week for each of the four CPA exams I hope to pass before starting work in September. As consistent with the schedule provided by my program, I took the alleged most difficult exam first.

The first exam is called Financial Audit and Reporting or FAR. Much of my recent break from writing articles was due primarily to spending time studying and preparing for this exam - and must I say that it lived up to the hype of being difficult.

The four hour exam seemed to just fly by as I looked down and realized I only had 3 minutes left when pressing the submit button at the end of the exam. However, despite submitting with only a few minutes to spare - I received good news a week later that I had passed!

It was a significant feeling of relief that lasted all of 24 hours before realizing that I still had THREE MORE EXAMS to go...

However, I am extremely thankful to have passed FAR and am working hard to ensure I'm prepared for the others. Exam 2 is scheduled for April 14th, so please send some prayers to me and my fellow classmates as we prepare.

In other news - I'm moving to Dallas!

I accepted a job around this time last year and I am starting work in September. However, after much consideration I've decided to transfer from the Houston office which I was supposed to start in, to the Dallas office. I'm extremely thankful that my team was so understanding and I'm ready to get the ball rolling with all that my first day of work will entail.

The last thing I'd like to catch you guys up on is what I plan on doing next with this website. While I will still continue to post articles about my life, sports, politics or whatever else I find noteworthy - I'm currently in the process of interviewing some pretty amazing people and hope to share the content of those interviews with you via articles and videos.

While the names of the individuals I'm interviewing cannot be revealed just yet - I hope you're excited to hear from some of the most high caliber and high profile partners, consultants, and C-Suite employees that Texas has to offer.

For those of you that made it this far in the article, I appreciate your continued interest in what's happening in my life and blog and hope to get some more content out for you soon!
